Fat Ox - Big Van: We get that question as well. A lot of times people are hesitant to hire a public adjuster because they're afraid they're going to upset their agent. Maybe they've been with that agent or good friends with that agent. They golf with them.
Fat Ox - Mizani: This question is from LinkedIn. They would like to know, should I be worried about upsetting my agent if I hire a PA? What have you been paying your agent?
Fat Ox - Big Van: Yeah, we get that question as well. A lot of times people are hesitant to hire a public adjuster because they're afraid they're going to upset their agent. Maybe they've been with that agent or good friends with that agent. They golf with them or they, you know, hang out with them and have known their agent for years or even decades. And so a lot of times they're a little hesitant to. They're wondering if hiring a public adjuster is going to upset their relationship with their agent. I can't say. We even get referrals from agents. So it just depends on your agent. I would assume if that that particular agent has disdain towards public adjusters. If that agent has your best interest in mind, it's likely that agent will refer a good public adjuster to help you handle your claim. Because again, we get referrals from agents who want to help their customers and because, you know, basically what a public adjuster does is we just go in and we explain to the carrier all the things that are damaged and all the costs that are covered by the policy, and then also how that relates to a construction project and how much that construction project will cost. And because of our experience we have and in our involvement, we have more time to just sit and go thoroughly through the claim, whereas maybe their adjuster was pressed for time and kind of went more quickly through it, or maybe it didn't even show up and didn't even come out to the property, but just sent a link that the homeowner maybe took pictures of themselves or whatever. Whereas a public adjuster is going to come in and be much more thorough for you. And so that's why we get referrals from those agents. Whether or not your agent gets upset, all I would say is if they do or if they don't, are they going to pay for the difference that you need between what the carriers offered you and what it's actually going to cost to do the job? And if they're not, then I would say definitely get a public adjuster, even if it might upset your agent. I think in the long run the agent will be happy that you were taken care of properly. So whether you call Fat Ox or call another public adjuster, I always recommend getting a public adjuster if you have an insurance claim.
